A look around the CETW Show Floor (Part 1)
As expected, CETW delivered some very cool new display Technology. Here's a look at some products that happened to catch my eye while walking around the floor. Pardon the amateur photography and video skills, as well as all who I missed at the show. If I missed your booth at the show, feel free to contact me or sign up here (for free) to post images, videos and general information about the products you showed. Without further adieu, here's what I was able to put together..
Samsung Display had a nice presence at the show. They had many of their digital signage monitors on the walls as you walked into the show room. I enjoyed their video wall playing a scene from Avatar. It looked good, although I was a little surprised that the wall was put together using difference width bezels. I think it would have had a nicer effect if all the different size dispays had identical bezel widths..
I met with Eric Perkins from Display Devices While at the show. They were showing off their 65" "SunView" ultrabright LCD Displays. When a 65" display is put on its side in portrait mode, it makes for a pretty impressive display. I particularly enjoyed the sharp, HD city images they were showing on the screens.
Olea Kiosks presented some of their new iPad enclosures and high end kiosks at the show. I thought the design on their Sephora Kiosk was polished and really nice to look at.
NEC's thin bezel video wall was an impressive sight. Utilizing 9 46" HD displays, the video wall showed off some very crisp images. I had previously thought of thin bezel video walls as "cheating" when it coems to delivering a giant LCD display but with the thin bezel, the display came out really nice.
Ultimedia showed off their kiosk design at the show. I thought the QNomy had a particularly nice design Ill be reaching out to Matt Lepacek to find out more about their hardware and software offerings.
Simbioz's design and interactive software really blew me away. They were one of the last vendors I ran into at the show but I'm glad I was able to demo their technology. The display is completely touchless, utilizing two camera's in the top corners of the kiosk. You can imagine a lot of situations where a completely touchless interactive kiosk could be useful. The design, image quality and interactive software is really high quality in my opinion.
NEC's 70" Display. Pretty standard but really nice to watch.
I saw this little guy cruising around the floor when I first arrived at the show. Its a VGO two way audio/visual mobile communications device. It's a really cool idea if you can wrap your head around the idea of a little robot buzzing around your office ready to unleash a high quality streaming conference with your boss 200 miles away.
Here's the SapientNitro Vending Machine utilizing Samsung LCD displays. We're seeing more and more of these touch screen, large LCD vending machines. There nice to look at and certainly more enticing than your standard glass vending machine.
