Tablets With Back-Side Touch Interface? Here’s KDDI’s Prototype

Samsung and Apple, for example, are apparently working on ideas in this area. But as far as I am aware, there aren’t too many videos around that show devices with a working rear-touch interface. Renesas MCU has 2.5MB SRAM for display buffer
electronicsweekly.com- Renesas Electronics has two 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), the SH7268 and SH7269 which are designed for industrial applications that drive a colour TFT-LCD. The MCUs are based on the SH2A-FPU (floating point unit) superscalar CPU core, which has a double-precision floating point math unit. There is 2.5Mbyte of on-chip SRAM, which should be enough capacity to store the required image information for two screens of WVGA resolution when the SRAM is used as a frame buffer. Deutsche Bank Says LCD Supply/Demand Situation Improving
bezinga.com- Deutsche Bank says the LCD market is improving, and is bullish on Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) as a result. It has a $22 price target and a Buy rating. In the research note, Deutsche Bank states, "We believe the supply and demand imbalance in the LCD industry has improved, as evidenced by a host of data points last week (monthly LCD panel shipments out of Taiwan; CMI reported Friday, bi-monthly panel price data, same store sales in the US and initial commentary about Golden Week TV sales). Wintek posts better-than-expected profits in 3Q10
digitimes.com- Thanks to increasing touch panel shipments to Apple for iPad, Wintek has posted an EPS of close to NT$1 (US$0.032) for the third quarter of 2010, higher than market expectations. Wintek is expected to see its profits continue growing in the fourth quarter. Click here to read more..
