Digital Screens at tradeshows
kvh.com- When static and digital displays are used together at a trade show, it makes for a strong visual presence, as seen in the picture above of KVH Industries lay out. Seeing a product physically in front of you, a long with a video or interactive demo gives a potential customer  a sense that your company is technologically sophisticated.  If a company is in the tech. industry, digital screens  should undoubtedly be a part of their presentation. We expect to see more and more companies integrating digital screens into their trade show displays.

Wintek posts record sales in September
digitimes.com- Touch panel maker Wintek has announced record consolidated revenues in September with NT$7.703 billion (US$248.23 million), up 25% sequentially and 165% on year. Third-quarter revenues increased 46% sequentially to approximately NT$19 billion, and cumulative consolidated revenues from January through September reached NT$39.85 billion, already exceeded the NT$32.28 billion for the entire 2009. Since Wintek reported a profitable month in May and sales have continued to improve, analysts believe the company could return to profitability for 2010. Click here to read more..

First OLED Display over 100”
displaysearchblog.com- At CEATEC JAPAN 2009, Mitsubishi Electric unveiled a 155” large-scale organic light emitting diode (OLED) display called Diamond Vision. Mitsubishi recently announced it will start selling the Diamond Vision OLED on September 21, 2010. This will be the first large-scale OLED display system available. The OLED material used is small molecule, deposited by vacuum evaporation, jointly developed with Tohoku Pioneer Corporation (Mitsubishi Chemical is also working with Pioneer to develop OLED lighting). Mitsubishi Electric indicated that it is possible to manufacture displays with resolutions that are comparable to LED displays, but at a lower cost. Pricing has not yet been announced. The C2234SW touch display combines a 22-inch high-definition, wide viewing angle, wide aspect-ratio LCD displaywith 3M Surface Capacitive touch technology in a robust metal chassis housing. The durabale 3M Surface Capacitive Technology (3M SCT) offers 91.5% light transmission, which makes it a preferred touch solution in public access and heavy-use environments for gaming, entertainment, self-service and financial applications. Marvell shows OLPC some serious love with a $5.6 million grant for XO-3 tablet
engadget.com- Marvell and One Laptop Per Child's close partnership has been no secret, but according toXconomy, Marvell's about to put a whole lot more green into the XO. The semiconductor company is forking over $5.6 million to fund the creation of the next gen XO-3 tablet, and according to OLPC founder and former Engadget Show guest Nicholas Negroponte, it's still slated for a 2012 release. Samsung releases display with 1ms response
techeye.net- Samsung has a couple of new LCD displays out this month. The first is the SyncMaster P2770FH which according to Samsung has a response time of just one millisecond - getting rid of motion blur and ghosting in the process. That means clearer performance for faster refresh rates. It's 27 inches and operates at a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. It has a viewing angle of 170 degrees and 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Inputs are HDMI, standard VGA and DVI-I. It'll be available this month for $399.99. Click here to read more..
