Chimei has unveiled five new LED-backlit LCD TVs for sale in the Taiwan market.
Chimei shipped about 85,000 LCD TVs in the first half of 2010, and the company expects to ship 180,000 LCD TVs for the whole year with 16% market share. With the introduction of these new LED-backlit monitors Chimei aims to ship 100,000  monitors in the second half of the year, which will account for up to 70% of the total revenues for monitors with a 35% market share. Medical imaging specialist Barco installs over 80 display systems as part of a new multi-disciplinary regional PACS (picture archiving and communication systems) program in northern Italy.

In addition to the diagnostic displays, the hospital's nuclear medicine department has acquired twenty clinical review displays for DICOM-compliant viewing and analysis of images from PET and SPECT scans. Equipped with professional medical-grade LCD-technology and a built-in DICOM Look-Up Table, Barco's clinical review displays present these types of medical images with more accurate gray-scales, better contrast and a wider viewing angle than conventional computer monitors.
