The touch panel market is likely to grow in the 3rd quarter of 2011
The market for small to medium sized panels have been thriving this year because of the new tablet PC's available. Ever since the Apple Ipad, tablet PC's have been growing rapidly. The competition has been the same way with firms such as HP and Acer aggressively trying to get on top. This increase in competition has caused more orders for small to medium sized panels but less for the large sized panels. via Digitimes
AMOLED displays are becoming more popular, products adopting this technology will grow in the 2nd half of the year
To differentiate their product from the competition, Samsung has become the largest supporter of AMOLED displays. AMOLED panels have become a more popular choice because of its high brightness. Samsung has implemented these AMOLED displays into the Galaxy series of smartphones and tablet PCs. Even more firms are likely to adopt AMOLED displays by the end of 2011 to differentiate from the Apple in-plane switching (IPS) LCD panels. via Digitimes
