Korea Times: Retina Display Equipped iPad

"A Retina Display-equipped iPad, an iPad Pro is what I’d call it. The article points to both Samsung and LG Display being suppliers of the 9.7-inch Retina Display, but I think Samsung will either be a very small player or not a player at all." via DisplayBlog

In early May, DisplaySearch analyzed this potential tie-up. The joint venture company will be capitalized by both companies, established in Taiwan, and in charge of the LCD TV panel and component business. Chimei Innolux, part of the Foxconn group, plays an important role in the relationship." via DisplaySearch Blog

OLED a Serious Threat to LCD

"Because of certain technology hurdles, OLED display technology has been limited to smartphones, in particular Samsung-branded smartphones such as the Galaxy S II. The 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus-equipped Galaxy S II is the fastest-selling smartphone in Samsung’s history, selling three million in 55 days. And is only second to Apple’s iconic iPhone 4." via DisplayBlog
