Digital Posters and LCD Advertising Displays: What Are The Differences?
Many people are confused with the solutions on offer when used for indoor digital signage, however we will look at both to highlight the pros and cons of each solution so that you can decide which is best for your use.
Digital Poster.
The most cost effective solutions are the digital posters, and these are a commercial grade LCD screen with a media player that is built in to the screen.
With being the entry level digital signage solution they do have drawbacks, the main one is that any content has to be updated manually, by either replacing the memory card with a new memory card with new content on it or through a flash drive that is inserted in to the USB port on the media player – not ideal if you have several digital posters over several sites in different towns and cities.
LCD Advertising displays.
These are normally free standing and are similar to the digital poster, however there is an option to make these displays wireless so that you do not have to go to each location to update the content. These can be linked to a wireless provider such as 3G and you can then log in to the media player remotely and update content through the WIFI connection.
Both solutions have the facility to set the units to power on at a preset time and power off when the building is empty, reducing power consumption and offering a more power efficient digital signage solution.
They also have the facility to have scrolling text in different heights, and can scroll in different directions.
Hopefully, this has given you some insight in to the products that are available for indoor digital signage that will not leave you feeling as if you have been mugged.
